Mindfulness and Masculinity on The Art of Fatherhood Podcast
A little treat just in time for Father's Day
For so many men, fatherhood opens up space for new emotional growth. Becoming a parent, and wanting to be the best father possible, often helps men reconnect with the deeper parts of themselves. In a lot of ways, becoming a parent can provide an opportunity for new fathers to embrace more vulnerability and tenderness. For others, emerging fatherhood is more difficult to grasp wholeheartedly and present a challenge to open up and be present within a growing family.
Ahead of the upcoming Father’s Day holiday, I was so grateful to talk with Art Eddy of The Art of Fatherhood Podcast. In this episode we challenge some of the stereotypes of Black dads, and I share how mindfulness can offer fathers opportunities for refuge and much-needed insight when life becomes a bit too much.
